Weekend Love
First an announcement: It's my brothers birthday! Happy Birthday Martin! I love you! :)
Last but not least:
One of my favorite reads in the blogsphere is "Dolce Vita - the sweet life". Micaela's posts are always so inspiring and beautiful.
She is hosting a giveaway right now - it's absolutely awesome. So go check it out!
My best friend Carla, my brother and me
Second: It's exact 30 days until my finals. Last week we had "simulated finals" which was very exhausting. But I am happy they are over for now and this weekend I do not have to study that much. The next weeks will be loaded with revising and reading for my finals, so if I won't blog so regulary you know why.
Third:
I bought the cutest, most inspiring book the other day. I just read the first two chapters but I am already thrilled about this book:

Piggeldy und Frederik
I'm truly sorry that these videos aren't available in English. They are just hilarious. One of my favorite kids TV Shows.

The Colours of the Kingdom
I think there's nothing greater than people who commit their talents and gifts to God, like the creators of this video did. It's such a blessing, and although I watched it many times it touches my heart again and again.

Today...
...I drove my bike to school. (Because it's good for the environment and it's healthy).
While I was doing that I listened to Pink Floyd and all the time I felt like you feel when you are really looking forward to something, full of joyous anticipation. I kept thinking: "To what am I looking forward to?"
And then I realised, that I'm not happy because there's something great in the future, but that I was fully enjoying the moment and being happy because of the present. And even though this moment wasn't very special or extraordinary I was so glad, just to be in this world, to live, to breath and to know all this is a present of God - for me.

I love reading blogs.
Last week we had a discussion in our english class wether the world is getting worse or better. I think it's hard to find an answer to that, because there are parts in the world, where a lot of people suffer from war, famine, natural desasters and other horrible things, but these are things that were always happening.
I for myself can only say, that I am happy to live in the twentyfirst century. I am happy to have the same rights as men, to be able to go to school, to travel the world and to enjoy all the modern technologies, most of all the internet. I looove the internet. And to come to my point, I love the blogspehere. I am really thankful to my friend Larissa, who introduced me to it. She by the way has a absolutely great blog, check it out here. Her posts are always profound and relevant.
Aaand this morning I stumbled upon the cooles giveaway ever. Actually it's kind of dumb of me to share it with you, because then you all enter and my chances of winning it are increasing. But as you know, I am really selfless. Okay, here it is. Go see for yourself.
I hope you all have a lovely sunday. I will do what I did all week long: studying.
See you next week!
If i had a work place such as this, I think studying would be more fun.

Pretty Prints
I LOVE travelling. I gladly skip cinema-visits and buy the cheap clothes to save my money for a trip to someplace in world. I think I could list a hundred aspects of travellingt that I love. One thing I do not like so much is riding a plane. I'm not afraid of flying, but I always get sick and feel like throwing up all the time. It's the same with cars, ships and busses. Trains are quite okay.
But even though being in a plane is not my favorite thing I really love that you get free magazines. When I flew to the US this year (see here and here and here) I got this magazine. It was actually quite boring but it had some pretty nice prints in it.

My Heart
I don't know how many of you are followers of Micaela's blog Dolce Vita. If you're not - check it out! At the moment Micaela is moving and without Internet and so she asked friends of her to guest blog and gave them these instructions:
Show your heart with as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in: a picture, a poem, a song (or piece of music), a quote, an item of clothing, and a place.
I love this idea and so I decided to show you my heart or maybe a little of it myself.
A Picture
I translated it myself to English... I hope it's understandable.
A Song
A Quote
"Seid vor allem immer fähig, jede Ungerechtigkeit gegen jeden Menschen an jedem Ort der Welt im Innersten zu fühlen. Das ist die schönste Eigenschaft eines Revolutionärs."
Che Guevara
"First of all be able, to feel every injustice towards everyone everywhere in the world deep in your heart. This is the most beautiful feature of a revolutionizer."
(Again I translated it... I hope you'll get it!)

These girls are my best friends in the entire world!
I hope we'll always be close and see each other regulary no matter where we live and what we do.
A Poem
Die Liebe
Die Liebe hemmet nichts;
sie kennt nicht Tür noch Riegel,
Und dringt durch alles sich;
Sie ist ohn Anbeginn, schlug ewig ihre Flügel,
und schlägt sie ewiglich.
Matthias Claudius
Love
Love can not be balked,
she knows neither lock nor key
she soaks everything.
She is without beginning,
has flapped her wings all days
and will go on
for ever.
I translated it myself to English... I hope it's understandable.

Fluffy and warm
Today I bought new earlaps.
Aren't they pretty?
I hate to wear caps, because they always destroy my hairdo.
But these earlaps make my ear warm and my hair still looks good.

An Ode to Wikipedia
I just say it: I love Wikipedia.
Wikipedia is one of the main reasons why I want to have an iPhone. It would be so great to have it always by my side or actually - in my pocket.
For me Wikipedia displays a place of endless knowledge and random facts about almost everything. Many times it helped me doing my homework or finishing papers.
It doesn't matter whether I want to know what's the name of an actor who plays a certain character in my favorite TV Show, or how many books Shakespeare wrote or
where on earth Căușeni is - Wikipedia knows everything.
Thanks to Jimmy Wales.

PS:
The first snow arrived this night in Southern Germany...
Although I'm not a winter fan, I do like snow.
It makes everything sparkly and magical.

Hurray for Soccer
Two Weeks ago me and my family went to Freiburg to see a soccer game. We (equals Freiburg) won. It was a lot of fun.

Role models
As you may know, I want to become a journalist.
Therefore I am always looking for inspiration and role models.
One of the greatest journalist I found is Rachel Maddow.
She is an american radio personality, a television host and political commentator.
She has her own show on msnbc. It is informative and at the same time funny.
I love her! Check her out here.

My weekend
Friday Night: My friend Carla and me made a little tour through our lovely city Lörrach. We drank Caipirinha at the Chestercafé and Martinis at the Cubanito.
We went to stop by at the "old Fabric" where our friend Stefan hosted a spontanous party.
We had a lot of fun dancing.
Saturday Night I spent again with Carla. Lucky we got into a concert for free.
We didn't liked it that much but it was fun though.
Later we bought lemonade and chips and went for a walk through the city.
On Sunday I went to church with my parents and after that we ate pizza with some friends. In the afternoon me and my dad went swimming (1 k!) and went to see Christoph Fuhrbach, a professional cyclist who established a new world record in Grenzach-Wyhlen. He drove his bike up and down a hill for 24 hours and covered a distance of over 21.000 m alitude difference. Impressing, isn't it? He collected a lot of money for a charity project in Peru. With sunshine monday is not that bad.

I love Postcards.
They make me happy. We have a cute little shop in our village, called "Dies und Das" (This and that) where you can buy expensive decoration stuff and lovely postcards...
Birthday Card for my Cousin, who celebrated his 9th birthday last week.
I love this Vintage Car. This one I bought for myself.
Wedding Card for my friends, they'll have their wedding next month.
It's beautiful, isn't it?
What I love even more than buying postcards is receiving them... so if you ever feel like sending a postcard to someone, ask for my adress. I promise to write back to you.
Yesterday I watched "The Passion of the Christ" for the first time and I cried through almost the whole movie. I think the movie is great because you really can see what Jesus did for us, but also I think it's sad that we need to see things like that to really apprehend how he suffered. You know what I mean? Did you see "The Passion of the Christ"? What do you think about it?

Spring? Is it you?
