It's my birthday

i am 25 today! happy birthday to me!

i love birthdays and to celebrate the fact that i am alive. what a privilege and blessing to be in this world with all it's terrible and beautiful parts. i am so grateful to God for all that he has given me especially the people he put in my life: my boyfriend, my parents, my brother, my church family, my friends. there have been many tough and many happy moments in the last 25 years but through none of it all i had to go alone. so thanks to all the amazing people who were there.

anyway i stop being soppy now.

as 25 years seems like a milestone and i really like that number i thought it is the perfect time for a bucket list! so here we go...

things i wish for and things i would like to do before i am 30 (in no particular order)

1) start every day by talking to jesus.
2) run a half marathon.
3) see noah and the whale live.
4) visit india.

13) read lord of the rings.
14) get back into horse riding.
15) buy a meal for a homeless person.

hello world, hello new year

it's been 174 days since i last wrote something on here. that is almost half a year.
however, now, by popular demand (i wish) - i am back!

i thought this new year presented the perfect opportunity to revive this little virtual space of mine.

i am currently without a laptop which makes this undertaking a bit harder but my aim is to at least once a week post a little something and enlighten the world with my oh-so-brilliant thoughts.

i hope you all had a good start into the new year?! i spend the last day of 2014 going to the theatre together with my family which was such a great way to end the last and greet the new year.

today - the first day of 2015 i read most of the day. one of my 'new years resolutions' is to read every day. this year i don't want to set myself some unrealistic goals but try to find ways to include the things i love more into my everyday life.

as i haven't posted much in the last six months i thought i'd share three hightlights slash important events of the last year.

#1: graduating from university. i loved my time at uni and it was amazing to celebrate education and the hard work of the last three years.

#2: starting work for the church. for an introvert like me it has its difficulties to work with, for and around people but i am learning so much and am able to see how god is at work in his church and in me.

#3: falling in love with my best friend.

i hope you all are well and 2015 is filled with joy and love, cake and good wine, good friends and good books and an increasing understanding of jesus' love and a decrease of worry. (francis chan is boss).

peace and love.

it's a new month, it's a new day

things i'm looking forward to this month

  • going to the lake district with my parents
  • celebrating my friend naomi's wedding
  • travel to the eastern sea with my brother
  • the beginning of summer.

being done with my exams will give me a lot of free time, which i want to use purposefully. so here a few things i want to do this month:

  • spend time with jesus. study his word. pray. enjoy his presence.
  • going raw for a couple of days a week, and choose wisely what i eat, so it's healthy for me and the environment (i just bought "crazy sexy kitchen" by kris carr - very inspirational!)
  • read. (list of books i want to read coming up soon!)

may the month of june be fabulous! have a great week!

ps: got my last exam today - keep your fingers crossed!
