hello world, hello new year

it's been 174 days since i last wrote something on here. that is almost half a year.
however, now, by popular demand (i wish) - i am back!

i thought this new year presented the perfect opportunity to revive this little virtual space of mine.

i am currently without a laptop which makes this undertaking a bit harder but my aim is to at least once a week post a little something and enlighten the world with my oh-so-brilliant thoughts.

i hope you all had a good start into the new year?! i spend the last day of 2014 going to the theatre together with my family which was such a great way to end the last and greet the new year.

today - the first day of 2015 i read most of the day. one of my 'new years resolutions' is to read every day. this year i don't want to set myself some unrealistic goals but try to find ways to include the things i love more into my everyday life.

as i haven't posted much in the last six months i thought i'd share three hightlights slash important events of the last year.

#1: graduating from university. i loved my time at uni and it was amazing to celebrate education and the hard work of the last three years.

#2: starting work for the church. for an introvert like me it has its difficulties to work with, for and around people but i am learning so much and am able to see how god is at work in his church and in me.

#3: falling in love with my best friend.

i hope you all are well and 2015 is filled with joy and love, cake and good wine, good friends and good books and an increasing understanding of jesus' love and a decrease of worry. (francis chan is boss).

peace and love.

Hey there

i feel like i am starting a lot of posts with an apology for not posting anything for such a long time, but here we go again: excuse my lack of blogging please.

today i just quickly wanted to update you all a little bit on what is happening in my life.

i finished uni! next week i have my graduation ceremony and will then have a bachelor of arts in politics, philosophy and economics. who would have thought?!

the next year i will be working for my church and attending a leadership training course. i am very excited to dedicate a year to serve the people in my community, study god's word and to grow in my strengths and weaknesses.

in fact, i am so excited that i am not even sad about finishing uni.

i am very grateful for those last three years. i was able to study three subjects that i loved and learn so many new interesting things. what a privilege!
hopefully i will return to study some more in the future but for now i am ready for new things.

this is not the sun setting,
this is the world moving on.

happy monday friends.

hello and happy 2014

a little late but happy 2014 everyone! i hope the year started well for you and will hold many good things, inspirations and intellectual challenges.

2014 is going to be exciting for me - i will finish my bachelors degree, will start to work for my church and hopefully start doing a masters.

as all my creative energy flows into my dissertation at the moment i will just leave you with some of my latest inspiration:
a beautiful song (my friend simone and i may or may not have started our day of studying by learning it on the guitar...) and a quote from my favourite book the fault in our stars by john green.

grateful

what a great weekend. not productive in any way, but so much fun was had!
i feel incredibly privileged to be part of a church family that knows how to throw good parties, that loves one another, challenges and encourages each other.
god is good.
